Optimize Patient Selection for Focal HIFU精準攝護腺海芙消融治療的病人篩選
Focal therapy using high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) is an emerging treatment modality for localized prostate cancer. Compared with radical prostatectomy or radiation therapy, focal HIFU could also achieve adequate cancer control while maximally preserving the urinary and sexual function, leading to the best quality of life. Traditionally, we used clinical stage, Gleason grade group, serum PSA level, and MRI report for risk stratification and treatment selection. However, these clinical parameters are suboptimal to be applied on focal HIFU. Some clinically significant or advanced cancer might be missed by current imaging and biopsy strategy. Multidisciplinary team work as well as some novel imaging and molecular biomarkers can help us to better select the candidates for focal HIFU.
