Hospital at home and telemedicine: US experience
在宅住院與遠距醫療整合應用:美國經驗
The rise of hospital-at-home programs and telemedicine has transformed healthcare delivery in the United States, particularly in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This talk explores the innovative integration of these models, highlighting their impact on patient outcomes, healthcare accessibility, and cost efficiency. Hospital-at-home initiatives allow patients to receive acute care in the comfort of their homes, reducing the need for hospital admissions and minimizing the risk of hospital-acquired infections. Telemedicine complements this approach by facilitating remote consultations, monitoring, and follow-up care, thereby enhancing patient engagement and satisfaction.
This presentation will examine key examples and data that illustrate the effectiveness of these models. Additionally, we will discuss the challenges and opportunities of delivering high-quality care in a remote setting, addressing issues such as patient selection, technology infrastructure, regulatory barriers, and digital divide. Finally, we will talk about the future of hospital-at-home and telemedicine, emphasizing the need for continued innovation and policy support to ensure equitable access to high-quality care for all patients. Drawing from recent data and case studies, this presentation will provide insights into how these care models are shaping the future of healthcare delivery in the U.S. and their potential to improve access, particularly for vulnerable populations.
